Although not the 5G smartphone we were all expecting, this mid-range smartphone shows that there may yet be some fight left in HTC especially in the smartphone space.

The Wildfire R70 which is a successor of the Wildfire X comes with a 6.53-inch, 720 × 1560 pixels HD screen. This smartphone has a triple rear camera setup housing a 16MP main camera lens with two 2MP depth of field cameras to help you better capture the moment. Up front, the Wildfire R70 wields a selfie camera with an 8MP lens. The Wildfire R70 will come with a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor and will operate an Android 9 Pie OS. Fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage which can be complimented with an additional 256GB with a microSD card, this device points towards the mid-range category. The Wildfire R70 also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, dual LTE support and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This smartphone boasts a battery capacity of 4,000mAh which can fully power the device through two days usage. Presently, this smartphone is only set for release in India and Thailand and at the time of this article, this mid-range smartphone’s price had not yet been revealed. The Wildfire R70 is expected to go on sale in the next few weeks and it will be interesting to see how this mid-range smartphone does on the market, especially with HTC’s dwindling fortunes in the smartphone space.
